Set the scene.
A chapel to St Gregory existed here around 1581. A traditional procession from Rabat helped make it an important destination.
Here’s the twist.
The present church replaced that chapel in 1851. When Kerċem became a parish in 1885, Our Lady of Perpetual Help joined St Gregory in its dedication.
Why it still matters.
Enlargement in 1906–1910 changed the building again. Follow those dates and you see a village shaping its church over generations, rather than completing everything in one grand moment.
