OKAY, HERE’S THE STORY

Set the scene.

The theatre developed within an early nineteenth-century villa. Construction between 1971 and 1976 created a performance space behind that older setting.

Here’s the twist.

Architect Louis Naudi designed the theatre, while artist Emvin Cremona shaped its decoration. Aurora opened on 9 October 1976.

Why it still matters.

Compare the idea of a domestic entrance with an auditorium full of spectators. A familiar street facade can conceal a completely different scale inside.
