Set the scene.
After studying in Malta, Oxford, Paris and Milan, Serracino Inglott worked as a librarian from 1963 to 1965. Libraries preceded the lecture room in his academic career.
Here’s the twist.
He became a lecturer, then professor and head of philosophy in 1971. His doctoral research examined the meaning of Ludwig Wittgenstein’s Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus.
Why it still matters.
In 1987 he was appointed University rector for an initial six-month period. A formal appointment notice also preserves the steps that brought a scholar to institutional leadership.
