Set the scene.
On 13 February 1915 Captain Cecil F. Kilner flew a Short Type 135 seaplane from the Grand Harbour. It arrived aboard HMS Ark Royal.
Here’s the twist.
The aircraft carried serial number 136 and flew for thirty-five minutes. This was the first recorded flight from Malta: the word recorded keeps the claim tied to evidence.
Why it still matters.
A centenary two-euro coin later showed the aircraft above the harbour, with Senglea Point behind it. An early flight became pocket-sized history.
