OKAY, HERE’S THE STORY

Set the scene.

The Franciscan Friars Minor settled in Gozo in 1899. At first they lived in a house in Għajnsielem.

Here’s the twist.

Local donors gave land in 1901 for a convent. Another donation helped make the church possible, and its first stone was laid in September 1902.

Why it still matters.

Wiġi Vella designed and built the church. It was blessed in 1906 and consecrated in 1912. Follow the move from a house to a religious home built for the purpose.
